Corelli was famed as a virtuoso vioinist and an elegant composer. His violin playing technique was widely imitated. He helped establish the form of the concerto grosso. Notable examples of Corelli music: his sonatas, which included his variations on the air, La Follia; and his Opus 6, including his 12 Concerti Grossi.
